After a wet hunt, simply wipe the tote down with a dry cloth and let it air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid placing it near direct heat sources like a fire or heater, as this can dry out the leather. Once dry, apply a thin coat of leather conditioner (we recommend a beeswax-based balm) to maintain suppleness. With proper care, moisture actually helps the leather develop richer character over time.
No. We use solid brass hardware — not brass-plated steel — specifically because brass is naturally resistant to corrosion, even in salt-heavy coastal environments. Over time, the brass may develop a warm patina, which many hunters prefer. A quick wipe with a brass cloth will restore the original shine if you prefer a polished look.
Each engraving supports up to 24 characters, including spaces. That's enough for a full name, initials, a short phrase, or a hunting club name. The laser engraving is permanently etched into the leather for a clean, precise finish that won't wear off over time. Custom engraving is a $20 add-on at checkout.
